Angal Thelma, 67, daughter of George and Mary Rickels, was born in a log cabin east of Knoxville on May 18, 1898, and died at Collins Memorial Hospital here on Aug. 16.

For many years she served as a telephone supervisor for Bellamy Telephone Company. She was a charter member of the local VFW Auxiliary, a past department president, 1950-195[?] and also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and of the Daughters of Union Veterans. For 25 years she served as a volunteer worker at Knoxville Veterans Hospital. She was a life long member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include a cousin and a step son.
Funeral services were held on Aug. 19 from the Knoxville First Methodist Church with Rev. J. Roland Crandall officiating. Interment was in Graceland Cemetery under the auspices of VFW Auxiliary.

Casketbearers were Cyril Power, Lester Beaver, Paul Robinson, James Bellamy, Earle Bellamy and Leland Robinson.
