Alvin Keith Foster was born June 3, 1939, in Chariton, Iowa the son of Loa and Wilma (Beebout) Foster.

Al was raised in the Columbia, Iowa area and graduated from Knoxville High School with the Class of 1957.

On August 23, 1959, Al was united in marriage to Margaret Gail Foster in Knoxville.
To this union, two daughters were born: Lorri Lynn and Lisa Kay.

Al worked at Goff & Nash before taking a job at Moorman’s Feed.

He worked many years at Moorman’s before becoming the cemetery superintendent at Graceland in Knoxville up until his retirement in 2004.
Following his retirement, he worked for Reed’s Auto Service.

Al and Gail enjoyed many years of activities together such as boating, motorcycling, and snowmobiling. They enjoyed these activities with their many friends and family. Al enjoyed spending his free time working in his home garage and was known for his mechanical abilities, which he used not only on his own projects but in helping others as well. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He and Gail enjoyed going on car rides and trying out many small-town Iowa restaurants. They often drove around the lake in the evenings to watch the deer and other wildlife. Al had a passion for older westerns and enjoyed watching sports as well.

Al passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at the Cottages, in Pella, Iowa at the age of 83 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Gail, daughter Lorri Jahner, son-in-law Bob Jahner, brother, Terry Foster, and sister, Marcia Foster.

Those left to honor Al’s memory include his daughter, Lisa (Mike) Jones; 4 grandchildren: Sarah (Adam) Andreesen, Lydia Jahner, Joe Jahner, and Eric (Jasmine) Jones; 1 great-grandson Grant Andreesen and many other family members and friends.
