Services for Alma Bittenbender, 94, Knoxville, who died on March 23,1993,were March 27, 1993, at the Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville.
Burial was at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville. The Rev. Bob Ward officiated at the service. Music; was provided by Dr. Gordon Arnott and Joan Arnott.
Pallbearers were John Carle, Robert Carle, William Carle, Carroll Johnson, and Leonard Long.
Alma was born on Oct. 12, 1898, in Knoxville, the daughter of Walter Wallace. and Barbara White Jenkins. She attended school in the
Rising Star District and graduated from Knoxville High School in the Class of 1917.
On Oct. 29, 1926, she was married to Donald Dean Bittenbender, in Knoxville. He preceded her in death in March 1936.
Alma was a member of the First United Methodist Church
and the United Methodist Women. She was a member of Chapter M, P.E.O., and Past Worthy Matron of the Knoxville Order of the Eastern Star.
She was also a member of the Marion County Historical Society. Alma spent her entire life in and around Knoxville. She has no immediate relatives.
Memorials may be made to the Marion County Historical Society.
