Allene (Keller) Deitrick was born to Howard and Hazel (Bebout) Keller on April 7, 1935, in Green City, Missouri. She was raised in Hampton, Iowa until her family moved to Knoxville, Iowa.
She graduated from Knoxville High School in the Class of 1953. On May 8, 1955, she was united in marriage to Richard Delano Deitrick in Knoxville. The couple eventually moved to Waterloo, Iowa, and resided in the Waterloo/Evansdale area.
Allene worked as a homemaker for many years, then helped manage the family business, Evansdale Sanitation.
She later worked for Wal-Mart for 23 years, retiring in 2002.
In her spare time, Allene enjoyed country music and her church. Allene had received Christ as her personal Savior, and she recently told her son, Jeff, how she felt her illness had drawn her closer to the Lord.
Allene loved her family and cherished her time with them. She often said how much it meant to her that the family would take time to gather together.
Allene passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at Newaldaya Lifescapes, in Cedar Falls, at the age of 86 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; son, Randy and siblings: Doris June Loynachan, Blanche Stanton and Alden Keller.
Those left to cherish Allene’s memory include her sons: Jeff (Pam) of Carlisle,
Rick (Sandy) of Jesup, Steve (Lori) of Waterloo, and Greg (Wendy) of Traer; 14 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Terri Chambers of rural Knoxville; brother-in-law, Robert (Nita) Deitrick of Urbandale and many other family members and friends.
