Services for Alberta May (Kingma) Briggs, former Knoxville resident, of Sleepy Eye, Minn., who died Feb. 13, 1980 at her home, were held Feb. 16 at the Faith United Methodist Church, Sleepy Eye, Minn.

The Rev. Merrill Harris officiated. Pallbearers were James Nelson, James Grundmeyer, Wilbert Brey, Melvin Wentworth, Warren Sandmann and Dennis Conrad.

Visitation services were held at the First Christian Church in Knoxville Feb. 17. Interment was in Coal Ridge Cemetery.
Knoxville pallbearers were Ted Godfrey, Brenton Trabert, Harold Hedrick, Dan Hardenbrook, Richard Bailey and Robert Harrison.

Mrs. Briggs was born May 25, 1931 at Knoxville, the daughter of Albertus and Nina (Bailey) Kingma.

She graduated from Knoxville High School in 1949. She married Marvin Briggs at Knoxville June 30, 1951.
They moved to Minnesota in 1957 where they operated the Progressive Printing Shop in Sleepy Eye. She was employed as a bookkeeper for the National Food Distributors for the past six years.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sleepy Eye, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and president of the Women's Bowling Assocation.
Survivors include her husband and one son, Daniel of Sleepy Eye, Minn.; mother, Mrs. Nina Kingma of Knoxville and one sister, Mrs. Ada Brees of Knoxville.
