Adolph L. Larson Jr., 79, of Knoxville, died Sunday, Dec. 29, 2002, at Knoxville Area Community Hospital. The body has been cremated and no services are planned.

Adolph was born on February 12, 1923 in Knoxville, the son of Adolph Larson Sr. and Mary Jane (Issacson) Larson.

He was raised in Knoxville and graduated from Knoxville High School.

During World War II he was a Navy pilot assigned to the Carrier USS Roosevelt. He attended Davidson College in Davidson, North Carolina earning a business degree.

For 30 years he was a senior Insurance Examiner for the State of Iowa.
He was a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Tomma Lou; a daughter, Lacy Larson-Smith of Ankeny; and two grandchildren, Sarah and Andy Smith of Ankeny.
