William Clark Robinson, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Robinson, Of Knoxville, was born in Custer county, Nebraska, October 23, 1913 and passed away in the Community Hospital in Pleasantville, Sunday, March 16, 1941, his age being 27 years, 5 months and 20 days.
Deceased was united in marriage to Beatrice Shivvers, of Knoxville, on March 29, 1933.
Mr. Robinson, who was familiarly known as "Bill" by his many friends, had the sincere friendship and deepest respect of a large circle of friends, not only in Knoxville and Pleasantville, but through out the communities surrounding both towns.
"Bill" had a wide acquaintance
graduated from high school and took an active part in athletics, especially, football. He later became well acquainted and loved in Pleasantville when he and his Wife moved to the Stephenson. home and took the best of care of the motherless daughter, Nancy, in that home. This act which was a sacrifice to the young couple was appreciated by everyone who was familiar with the situation.
"Bill" also widened his circle of friends he was catcher on the Danville team, a position he was always very proud of, and his friends always enjoyed watching his good natured, whole hearted play.
Deceased was a member of the Christian church at Fairview, south of Pleasantville, and although he was not able to attend regularly in recent years, was very proud of his affiliation with this religious organization.
All of "Bill's" athletics, farming and other activities were always secondary to his devotion to his home and friends. His home, he loved and spent most of his leisure hours improving it.
Besides his wife Beatrice he is survived by his mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. John Robinson, of Knoxville; his wife's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hopkins Shivvers, of Knoxville; three brothers, Merlon, of, Chariton and Jack and Teddy, of Knoxville; four sisters, Mrs. Francis Lashe, of Davenport, Ellen Betty and Norma Jean, all of Knoxville.
Besides these he leaves a number of neices and nephews who always thought "Uncle Bill" was the very best, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Christian church in Knoxville, Wednesday afternoon, March 19, at 2:00 o'clock, conducted by his pastor, Rev. M. M. Pigg. Music was furnished by Ellen Newell and Fred Middleton, and Mrs. Ralph Cart, all of Pleasantville.
Interment was in the Shivvers family lot in the Lincoln cemetery.
Pall bearers were: Tommy Jordan, Raymond Jordan, Merle Jordan, Teddy Ward, Granville Shivvers and Woodrow Shivvers.
