Tom was born on April 22, 1915 in Junction City, Kansas, the son of Clarence and
Julia Goggan Stittsworth. <br />
<br />He attended and graduated from Knoxville High School.
During WWII, Tom served with the Coast Guard in Charleston, South Carolina.
<br />
<br />
On September 27, 1943 he married Agnes Wren in Charleston. They moved back to Knoxville
where Tom was employed by the Peoples Store and co-owner of the Family Shoe Store.
<br />
<br />He retired three years ago after twenty five years as manager of the VA Canteen
Service the last twelve years with the VA Hospital in Des Moines.
<br />
<br />
Tom passed away on June 27, 1983 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines at the
age of 68 years.
<br />
<br />
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother.
<br />
<br />
He is survived by his wife: one son; Archie of Grand Island, Nebraska: three brothers;
Joesph of San Diego, California, Jack of Lamed, Kansas and Ray of Bend, Oregon and
two sisters; Jeanette Stittsworth of Santa Monica, California and Mrs. Katherine
Kosky of Los Angeles, California. <br />
