Tara Elizabeth Norton, age 27, of West Des Moines, formerly of Knoxville, Iowa, passed away suddenly on May 7, 2016, in Anita, Iowa.
Tara was born in Knoxville, Iowa on May 8, 1988. She is the daughter of Todd Milo DeHeer and Shelly Jane (Harrison) LeGros.
Tara graduated from Knoxville High School and recently enrolled to obtain a teaching degree, specializing in Special Education, from Des Moines Area Community College in Des Moines, Iowa.
Tara was united in marriage to Russell James Norton on June 27, 2015; they have two children; Christina Norton and Amiya Bunner.
Tara was a stay at home mom who loved spending time with her children and watching them grow.
She enjoyed playing volleyball and a competitive game of Spades. There was nothing more important to her than the quality time she spent with her friends and family.
Tara loved watching movies as a family, football season, and any opportunity she had to support the Green Bay Packers.
Tara is survived by her loving husband; Russell James Norton, two daughters; Christina Norton and Amiya Bunner, sister; Sara Foust, grandparents; Leroy “Socks” DeHeer, Larry (Elizabeth) Pitt, aunts; Kandy (Brad) Neer, Sherri (John) Carter, Genni (Bob) Eaglin, Bobbi (Chad) Weltikol, and Franky Mendehal, uncles; Scott “Hose” DeHeer, Mark (Sandy) DeHeer, Wade (Diana) DeHeer, Dustin (Val) DeWitt.
She is also survived by her mother-in-law; Linda Hackett, father in law; Arthur Norton, three sisters in law; Krystal Norton, Tammi (Rob) Winchester, and Dawn Mays, one brother in law; Brad (Amanda) Hackett, aunts in law; JoAnn (Ellis) Williams and Mary Peterson, uncles in law; James (Judy) Hackett and Albert (Eleanor) Hackett. Tara is also survived by many very special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Tara is preceded in death by her parents; Todd Milo DeHeer and Shelly Jane LeGros, grandmother; Shirley DeHeer, grandparents; Franklin (Nancy) Harrison, her great grandparents, and several cousins.
