Tammie Jo (TJ) (Thompson) Grundig, 43, formerly of Knoxville died on Feb. 27, 2006,
at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla. of a massive asthma attack. Tammie
was born on May 11, 1962, in Knoxville to Ira Jay and Charlene DeMoss Thompson.
She attended Knoxville Schools.

She married George Grundig in June 1991 in Santa Ana, Calif. Tammie was a devoted wife, mother, daughter and sister. She had a mischievous smile and kind and loving eyes. She had a generous heart that she shared with her family, friends, neighbors and animals. She never met an animal she didn’t like.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ira Jay Thompson. She is survived by her
husband George John Grundig (b.1962-d.2013) of Jacksonville, Fla.; sons, Jeremy Marshall of Abington, Ill., George Jr. and Patrick of Jacksonville, Fla.; a daughter, Amanda of Jacksonville, Fla.

At the time of her death Tammy was survived by her mother, Charlene Thompson
of Knoxville. Other survivors are a brother, Sam Thompson of San Jose, Calif. a
sister, Pam Singelyn of Knoxville; half brothers, Bill of Grawn, Mich. and Jim (Demita) of Neisland, S.D.; half sisters, Judith Cross of Salt Lake City, Utah, KristineTammie Thompson Mann of Traverse City, Mich. and Sandy (John) Britnall of Grawn, Mich.; many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Even in death Tammie provided life for others by donating her organs.

Tammie was laid to rest in Riverside Memorial Park in Jacksonville, Fla. A memorial service was held on April 1.
