Roy Van Mavin, 68, of Knoxville, died of cancer Wednesday, December 8, 1999, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville, with burial at Gullion Cemetery near Attica.

Mr. Van Mavin was born August 31, 1931, the son of Henry Mavin and Nora Belle King of Pershing, and had lived in the Knoxville area for many years.
He had worked at Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. in Des Moines for 39 years before retiring.

He served as a CPL US ARMY KOREA and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Odd Fellows, and Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include a brother, Robert of Knoxville; three sisters, Helen Frazier of Knoxville,
Myrtle Kendall of Albia and Nora Belle Pettyjohn of Hamilton.

His companion was Roberta Riseley of Harvey.
Friends may call after 9 a.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 7 to 8 p.m.
and where a Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Burial in the Gullion Cemetery – Rural Marion, IA 52302
