Roscoe Lee Leeper was born on September 4, 1923 in Pleasanton, Iowa, the son of William Robert and Una Vivian Argo Leeper. The family moved to Knoxville when he was a young boy.

He graduated from Knoxville High School in 1941 and served with the United States Navy from 1942 until 1945.

Roscoe married Betty Worrall on March 6, 1943 in Unionville, Missouri. They lived their entire married lives in Knoxville. Roscoe retired from the United States Post Office in Knoxville in 1983 after 37 years. He was also a member of the Knoxville VFW and Pleasantville American Legion.

Roscoe died on Saturday, November 14, 1992 at his home in Knoxville at the age of 69 years, 2 months and 10 days.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife in May of this year and one brother, Robert.

He is survived by one son, Dennis of Pella, Iowa; one daughter, Sherilyn Slofkosky of Knoxville; six brothers, Charles of Wentworth, South Dakota, James and Richard, both of Knoxville, Walter of Tinley Park, Illinois, Paul of Altoona, Iowa and Leland Williams of Pleasantville, Iowa; two granchildren, Dyan Lei Lobel and Michael Paul Slofkosky, both of Knoxville; one great-grandchild, Caitlin Marie Mitchell of Knoxville and many other relatives and friends.
