Services for Ann, 30, of Pella, who died Nov. 2, 1992, at her home in Pella, were Nov. 4 at the Central College Chapel.
Burial was at the Dunreath Cemetery in Marion County. The Rev. Donald Maxam officiated at the service.
Music was provided by Betty Huyser. Pallbearers were David De Vries, Dennis De Vries, Ryan Davis, Guy
Luciano, Robert Eastwood, and Max Maddy. Honorary pallbearers were Dee Johnson, Judy Rankin, Sandy Rankin, Rhonda Moneysmith, and Laura Sharp.
She was born Randilee Jean Perkey, on Sept. 5, 1962, and was the daughter of Randolph Lester and Velma Louise Fee Perkey.
Ann graduated from Knoxville High School in 1981. Following high school graduation,
she was awarded a State of Iowa Scholarship and enrolled at Coe College in Cedar
Rapids. She attended Coe College for one year and then transferred to Central College
in Pella where she received her bachelor of arts degree in systems management in 1985.
She graduated Magna Cum Laude and was a member of Alpha Zeta Mu, an honorary
academic society. Following college graduation, she became one of the first female
computer programmers at Rolscreen Company in Pella. She was employed as a systems
analyst for the Pella Corporation at the time of her death.
On May 26, 1989, she was married to Fred Dean De Vries in Pella. Survivors include her husband of Pella;
one step-son, Jayson De Vries of Oskaloosa; her parents of Knoxville; two sisters,
Kathryn Adams of Evergreen, Colo., and Marzette Visser of Apple Valley, Minn.; two
brothers Carroll Perkey of Knoxville and Bruce Perkey of Des Moines; her maternal
grandmother, Violet Fee of Knoxville; her father and mother-in-law, Tom and Viola
De Vries of Pella; and five nieces and nephews.
A memorial has been established for the Ann De Vries Scholarship Fund, in the care of the Pella Corporation. The Van
Dyk-Duven Funeral Home in Pella was in charge of the arrangements.
