Services for Paul Mettler, who died Dec. 19 at Burlington were held there on Dec.
22, 1972 with Rev. Henry Hackman officiating. Services were at Oakland on Dec. 23 with
Rev. Edwin Meineker officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery at Oakland.

Richard
Paul, son of Leslie and Etta Hegwood Mettler, was born June 5, 1931 at Oskaloosa
and moved to Knoxville with his parents in 1933. He was a 1949 graduate of Knoxville
High School.

On Oct. 22, 1950 he was united in marriage to Jean Leader. After serving
in the Navy for four years as an Electrician Mate 1st class, he attended Iowa State
University and University of Iowa, where he graduated with a Major in Math. He was
sales manager for an electonics company at Burlington.

Survivors include his wife,
Jean; two daughters, Janet and Julie; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L.J. Mettler of
Knoxville; sisters, Mrs. Marvin (Virginia) Gilliland of Knoxville and Mrs. Norman
(Shirley) Hays and brother, Donald Coon of Battle Creek.
