Nancy Kay (Dennison) Stittsworth was born September 30, 1945 in Knoxville, Iowa the daughter of Robert and Beatrice (Orr) Dennison.

She graduated from Knoxville High School in the Class of 1963. Following high school, Nancy worked at Aetna Life in Des Moines. On December 13, 1964, she was united in marriage to Jim Stittsworth at the First Christian Church in Knoxville. To this union, four children were born: Melissa, Tim, Mike and Robert.

Nancy worked at Baker Drug for several years and for 18 years she and Jim worked side by side in their business. She also sold Avon for several years.

In her spare time, Nancy enjoyed auctions, cross stitching, making ceramics and of course – a bargain from Goodwill. She also kept a beautiful flower garden at her home.

The family was the most important part of Nancy’s life; and she especially cherished her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and siblings.

Nancy passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at the Knoxville Area Community Hospital at the age of 68 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Melissa; sister, Phyllis Bloome and her brother, Eldon Dennison.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Jim; 3 sons: Tim (Teresa) Stittsworth of Knoxville, Mike Stittsworth of Belmond, Iowa and Robert (Angela) Stittsworth of Knoxville; 6 grandchildren: Chrystal (Jeremy) Bumgardner, David, James, Megan, Nicholas and Timothy Stittsworth; 4 great-grandchildren: Calyn, Elijah, Gavin and Tucker Bumgardner; siblings: Melvin (Louise) Dennison of Knoxville, Bert (Roberta) Dennison of Knoxville; Brenda (Dwight) Mater of Knoxville and Paul (Joyce) Dennison of Mt. Pleasant; brother-in-law, Dean (Carol) Bloome of Hubbard; sister-in-law, Sharon Dennison of Knoxville; 12 nephews; 8 nieces and many other family members and friends.
