Services for Myron Carl Welch, 77, of Knoxville, who died Dec. 22 1986 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines were held Dec. 24 at Williams Funeral Home. Interment was in Graceland Cemetery

Stanley Wolenhaus and Terry McNeely officiated at the services. Music was provided by Larry Conn, organist, and John Crawford, vocalist.

Pallbearers were Abe and Don Synhorst, Paul Sytsma, John Marsh, Marvin Loynachan, and Dean Moats. Honorary bearers were John Fee, Carroll Johnson, Lloyd Karr, Frank Dainty, John Bohm, Leland Bane, Jon Wouda, Warren Whaley, Bill Dennison, Raymond Glenn, Hoyt Monroe, M.A. Trabert, and Clark Brubaker.

Mr. Welch was born Feb. 23, 1909, the son of James A. and Myrtle Smith Welch.

He attended rural and local schools and graduated from Knoxville High School in 1927.

He was a lifetime farmer and a retired salesman from Bailey Implement and Bane Chevrolet.

He was a member of a male quartet and belonged to church choirs in Knoxville and in Chandler and Apache Junction, Ariz., as well as the Men's Chorus in Chandler and the Red Rock Barber Shop Group.

He was an elder in the First Christian Church in Knoxville for many years and was a 48 year member of I.O.O.F. Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents one brother and one sister

He is survived by his wife; two God children, Sabiah and Nicholas Sogard of Grand Forks, N.D.; one brother, Wyatt of Knoxville; one sister, Mrs. Clair (Vera) VanGilst of Killduff; nieces; and one nephew

A memorial has been established to Christ's Church of Knoxville.
