Minnie "Kitty" Wares was born Sept. 5, 1931, in Richmond, Ind., the daughter of
Francis Eugene Waltmann and Tinsy (Minix) Waltmann.

She was raised in Marion County and attended Knoxville schools. On Feb. 18, 1948,
she was united in marriage to Jack Wade Wares in Des Moines. The couple farmed until
Jack's retirement in 1973.

<br />
Kitty also worked as an aid for West Ridge and then the V.A. Hospital for approximately
7 years.
<br />
<br />
Kitty had many interests; she loved animals, was an avid card player and she never
missed a good garage sale. She also enjoyed bluegrass music, dancing and was an
accomplished pianist. <br />
<br />The most important part of Kitty's life was her family; she
was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

<br />
Kitty passed away on Oct. 19, 2008, at the Park Lane Village at the age of 77.
<br />
<br />
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, parents and her husband, Jack, in
1993.
<br />
<br />
Those left to honor her memory include her children, Dennis (Dianne) Wares of Ankeny,
Diana (Bill) Dooley of Missouri Valley, Sheri (Steve) Hlad of Knoxville and Ron
(Kasi) Wares of Knoxville, 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. <br />
<br />
Funeral Services were held at Bybee & Davis Funeral Home in Knoxville on Oct. 22
with John Hlad officiating.<br />
<br />
Interment was at Lincoln Cemetery in rural Marion County.
