Lorri Lynn (Foster) Jahner, age 56 of Knoxville, Iowa died Thursday, October 13, 2016, at the Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
A celebration of life service for Lorri will be held at 10:00 A.M., on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the First united Methodist Church. Private family burial will follow. No visitation is planned prior to services.
Lorri was born July 28, 1960 in Oskaloosa, Iowa the daughter of Alvin Keith “Al” and Gail (Smith) Foster. Lorri was raised and attended school in Knoxville. She graduated from Knoxville High School, Class of 1978. After high school Lorri graduated from DMACC with a degree in accounting.
On July 28, 1989 Lorri and Robert John Jahner were united in marriage. She shared 21 years together and were blessed with two children: Lydia and Joseph. Bob died on December 7, 2010.
Lorri and Bob owned and operated South Central Contractors, a power line installation business from 1989 to 2001. In 2001 Lorri began working at the Marion County Auditor’s Office.
Lorri loved her family and raising her children. She enjoyed the school musicals and sporting activities. Later she enjoyed spending time with friends, the outdoors, reading, computer games and wine tasting.
Lorri is survived by her two children: Lydia Jahner of Iowa city and Joseph Jahner of St. louis, Missouri. She is also survived by her parents, Al and Gail Foster; her sister Lisa Jones (Mike); and her dear friend Allen Rinehart all of Knoxville.
Lorri is preceded in death by her husband Bob Jahner; and her mother and father-in-law Doris Rosetta and Jim Jahner.
