Services for Lawrence Boyd Rankin, 67, who died April 22, 1990, were held April 26 at First United Methodist Church.

He died of a heart attack Sunday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Mr. Rankin, a retired farmer, was a lifelong Marion County resident.

Mr. Rankin was born on Dec. 12, 1922 near Pershing, the son of Lester Boyd and Flossie Joy Monroe Ranking.

On Oct. 5, 1947, he married Twila Louise Little.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew.

He is survived by is wife; three children, a son, Gregory George, of Knoxville, Mrs. Daryl (Beverly) Clipperton of Hamilton, and Mrs. Dick (Merry Lynn) Dunkin of Ames; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren, five sisters, Pauline Rankin of Janesville, Wisc., Maxine Robinson of Baltimore, Md., Genevieve Scheldorf of Louisville, Ken., Joy Newnam of Mercer Island, Wash., and Jobyna Herman of Collville, Wash.; 14 nieces and nephews; eight great-nieces and nephews, and 13 great-great-nieces.

Williams Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Interment was in Graceland Cemetery.
