Laura Lanell Rowland, 91, of Knoxville, formerly of Columbia, was born April 15,
1920, to Earl and Mina (Spaur) Smith.
She passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2011 at the Griffin Nursing Center in Knoxville.
Lanell graduated Knoxville High School Class of '38 and on August 20, 1939 was united in marriage to James Alvin Rowland who passed away on June 11, 1979.
She is survived by her children, James Ardean (Fontalee) Rowland of Norwalk, Ardith
(Harold) Showers of Lovilia, Charlotte (Phil) Kaufman of Whittier, CA, and Arlen
Rowland of Montezuma; 9 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 29 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Williams
Funeral Home in Knoxville.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 30 at 10 a.m. at Faith Baptist
Church in Knoxville. Burial will follow in Gosport Cemetery in rural Columbia.
