John Jacob Riherd, son of William and Maude Riherd, was born at Red Rock, June 3, 1910, and died at the home of his parents, Monday, April 22, 1946, at the age of 35 years, 10months and 19 days.

On October 7, 1937, the deceased was united in marriage to Vesta Lee Detter, who survives him.

To this union three children were born, Billie, age 5, Sandra, age 2, and Norma Jean age 1, all of whom survive.

Surviving also are his parents. Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Riherd, of Red Rock, two brothers, Arthur, of Belle Plaines, and Kenneth, of Red Rock, and three sisters, Ruby (James) Murphy, of Belle Plaines, Bernice (Robert) Buckley, of Rock Valley, and Grace (William) Mabie, of Knoxville.

John was reared in the Red Rock neighborhood, and graduated from the Knoxville high school in the class of 1931.

He followed the insurance business for a while moving to Minnesota in 1940.

The deceased was a regular attendant at the red Rock church while living there and was highly respected by all who knew him

Funeral services will be held from the Red Rock church at 2:300 o'clock. Thursday afternoon by Rev. Marvin M. Pigg, pastor of the Knoxville Christian church.

Burial will be in the Red Rock cemetery.
