Mission History – Took from Guam on a flight to Hawaii transporting senior staff for prepare for a high level meeting on plans for the final assault on Japan Weather was reported as broken clouds at 3,000 – 6,000.

The first leg of the flight to Kwajalein was successful. The aircraft was lost at sea between Kwajaiein and Hawaii.

The entire crew was officially declared dead on February 26, 1945.

Memorialized on the tablets at Honolulu Cemetery (Punchbowl).

The names of Congressional Medal of Honor recipients have a gold inlay. Rosettes are added to the names of those who were recovered and are no longer missing.

Tablets include the names of 36,285 Missing In Action (MIAs) from the Pacific Theater are memorialized on the tablets of the missing from the South Pacific and Southwest Pacific.

The list of names for the tablets of the missing was finalized around 1958, with corrections made to the list until 1960.

The tablets were engraved in Terni marble in Italy.
