Howard Edward (Boostie) Smith, 39, of Knoxville died March 18, 1970 at Universtity Hospital in
Iowa City, Thursday evening, He had been in failing health for several months.
He was born Howard Edward Smith on July 14, 1930 in Marion County the son of Glenn and Laura PeLong Smith.
Howard graduated in Knoxville, Iowa with the Class of 1949.He was united in marriage to Marlene Lowe on Dec 24, 1951.
He was a Korean War veteran having served in the Army. Howard had been employed by the Iowa Highway Commission
in road maintenance department of the for the past ten years.
He was a member of the Assembly of God Church and was a councilman for the Rangers.
His parents preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife Marlene, two daughters, Nancy Lee and Sharon and one son, Howard Smith, Jr. all of the home;
His step-father George Sellers of Hamilton; one brother, Raymond Smith three step sisters and two stepbrothers.
