Funeral services for Howard (Boostie) Smith, who died March 18, at Universtity Hospitals,
Iowa City, were held March 23, 1970 from the Assembly of God Church, with Rev. M.H.
Mooberry officiating.

Burial was in Graceland Cemetery under the direction of Bybee
and Davis Funeral Home. Mrs. Darlene Mooberry, organist accompanied by Mrs. Sandra
Miller, Soloist.

Howard Edward, son of Glenn and Laura Pelong Smith, was born July
14, 1930 in Marion County. He was united in marriage to Marlene Lowe on Dec 24,
1951. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church and a councilman for the Rangers.

He served in the army during the Korean War and had been employed in the maintenance
department of the State Highway Commission for the past ten years.

His parents preceded
him in death. Surviving are his wife Marlene, two daughters, Nancy Lee and Sharon
and one son, Howard Jr. at home; stepfather George Sellers of Hamilton; one brother,
Raymond Smith three step sisters and two stepbrothers.
