Word was received in Knoxville, Friday, April 3, 1953 of the sudden death of Howard E. May, 43, at Los Angeles, Calif.

A former resident of Knoxville, he attended the local
schools, moving to California a few years ago.

Funeral services were held in Los Angeles, Monday. The widow and two children survive him.

Howard E. May, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred May, was born Sept. 24, 1909 at Rego, Ind, and died April 3, 1953, at the age of 43 years in Ventura County, Calif.

He attended school in Marion County and graduated from Knoxville High School in 1927. Soon after graduation he moved to California where where he has since made his home in Ventura County the past 15 years.

In September 1943 he was united in marriage to Terry Williams Red Oak. To this union was born two daughters.

He suffered a severe heart attack in January, 1953, from which he never fully recovered. He died en-route from his home at Carmarillo Heights to the hospital.

Surviving are his wife, Terry, and two daughters, Lana Lee 7 and Sheri Ann 3; his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Fred May, brothers and sisters, Harold, Andy, Charles, Mrs. Ruth McCabe, all of Knoxville, Mrs. Audrey Agan, Columbia, Mrs. Carolyn Garcia, North Hollywood, Calif., several nieces nephews, uncles and aunts.

The father, three brothers, Andy, Harold and Charles, and the sister, Mrs. Ruth McCabe and Mrs. Audrey Agan, went by plane to attend the funeral.

The mother is seriously ill and was not able to make the trip.

Services were conducted at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home April 6 by Rev. Thomas Grice. Burial was in Ivy Lawn Cemetery, Ventura, Calif.
