Floyd Newton Robuck was born July 8, 1922, in a farm house outside of Attica, the son of Ward and Dessie Robuck. They lived in Pershing, where his father worked in the coal mine. They later moved to Knoxville where Robuck hired the rest of his life.
Robuck joined the Army in December of 1942, serving his country in World War II and
later the Reserves.
He married Charlotte Haselhuhn on April 19, 1947. To this union, four children were
born.
Robuck was employed by the Veterans Administration Medical Center where he worked
as a carpenter. He enjoyed being active and working with his hands. He and Charlotte
built two homes in which they lived. He also helped build many homes in the area,
including some for his children and playhouses for his grandchildren.
After Charlotte's passing in 1979, Robuck became very involved in his grandchildren's
lives. With the help of his grandchildren and a cousin, he became a sprint car racing
fan. This sometimes included trips as far away as Phoenix, Ariz.
Services for Floyd Newton Robuck, 68, of Knoxville, who died Dec. 18, 1990, at home,
were held Dec. 21 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Knoxville.
Interment was in Graceland Cemetery, where graveside military rites were accorded
by John Myers Post No. 3519 V.F.W. and BatyTucker Post No. 168 American Legion.
Robuck was preceded in death by his father, his wife and a granddaughter, Julie
Nicole Bailey.
Survivors include his mother; a sister, Charlene Robuck of Knoxville; a brother,
Charles Robuck of Pleasantville; a son, Ward of Woodbury, Minn.; three daughters,
Judy Bailey of Bussey, Nancy Smith and Scherry Robuck, both of Knoxville; eight
grandchildren services.
Music was provided by Cindy Todd, organist, and Barry Barkey, soloist.
Pallbearers were Bob Caswell, John Caswell, Jeff Robuck, Mike Robuck, Mark Haselhuhn,
Kenny Haselhuhn, Danny Haselhuhn and Dennis Haselhuhn.
