Elijah Junior Dennison
Services for Elijah Junior Dennison, 64, of Knoxville, who passed away on June 4, 1991 at the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines, were held June? at Williams Funeral Home.
Interment was in Freedom Cemetery in Lucas County.
Rev. Tim Stanwood officiated at the services. The eulogy was presented by Don Tuttle. Music was provided by organist Beth Stanwood and vocalists Rev. Tim Stanwood and Beth Stanwood.
Pallbearers were Bert Dennison, Don Dennison, Lucky Laughlin, Dan Dennison, Jack Glassinger and Terry Tuttle.
Honorary pallbearers were Tommy Johnson, Milton Risbeck, Allen Heston and Wayne Stewart.
Elijah Junior Dennison was born on July 29, 1926 in Knoxville. He was the son of Elijah Summer and Grace Gertrude Bonifield Dennison. There were seven children born to this union.
Junior was raised in the Knoxville
area and attended Knoxville schools. His family later moved to the Chariton area.
On Jan. 1, 1951, Junior was united in marriage to Margery Darlene Tuttle at the First Christian Church Parsonage in Knoxville. One son, Steven was born to this union.
On May 14, 1951 Junior was inducted into the Army and served in Germany during the Korean Conflict and was discharged in March of 1953.
Upon returning to the Chariton area Junior and Marge farmed and raised turkeys.
Later Junior also had a feed business and in 1960 operated Dennison and Son Massey-Ferguson farm implement dealerships in Chariton and Knoxville. The family moved to Knoxville in 1965. In the early 1970's Junior became an insurance agent for Farm Bureau Insurance and continued until his health failed him in 1982.
Junior was an active and gregarious person who loved people and being around them. He was a member of many organizations including the Farm Bureau, the Masonic Oriental

Lodge #61 AF&AMI, various armed services organizations such as the VFW Post in Knoxville, and Chriit's Church in Knoxville.
Junior's love of people wasn't any greater than his love for his grandchildren, Benjamin and Brianna.
They dearly loved their grandpa and understood about his handicap and wheelchair. Junior also enjoyed his time with the boys, whether it be at the horse races or cardplaying, pitch, poker, pinochle or whatever.
Junior was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Thurman, Robert and James and two infant sisters.
Those family members surviving him are, his wife Margery of Knoxville; a son, Steven and his wife Pam Dennison of Wheatland; two grandchildren, Benjamin and Brianna; and one brother, Bill of rural Knoxville.
He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives as well as many, many friends. Junior will be greatly missed.
