Services for Donald Conger, 64, of Knoxville, who died March 28, 1987 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, were held March 31 at the Assembly of God Church.
Bybee and Davis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery.
Pastor Kyle Anderson officiated at the services. Music was provided by Cheryl Anderson, organist, and Richard and Cheryl Sutherland and Debi Amos, vocalists.
Pallbearers were Danny Cox, Denny Miller, Garold Altes, Wayne Jansen, David Jordan, and Leonard Langstraat. Honorary bearers were David Amos, Jerry and Robert Pitt, Delmar Carter, Glenn Waits, and Larry Crozier.
Mr. Conger was born Dec. 9,1922 at Knoxville, the son of Wayne and Grace Pitt Conger. He graduated fromKnoxville High School in 1941.
In 1980, he retired from the VA Medical Center after 38 years of employment. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church and had served as church secretary for many years.
He was preceded in death by his mother. He is survived by a number of cousins including Bruce Pitt, son of James F. Pitt, sons and daughters of Ulysses R. Pitt, sons and daughters of William H. Pitt, daughters of Mary Ethel E.J. Clark, sons and daughters of Georgia M. Waits, sons and daughters of Joseph D. Pitt, and son and daughters of Julie Verde Lee Carter.
A memorial has been established to the Assembly of God Church.
