Services for C.J. "Curley" Chamberlain, 76, Newton, who died on March 16, 1993,
of heart failure at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, were March
19, 1993, at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton. Burial was at the Greenwood
Cemetery in Knoxville. The Rev. David Rex, pastor of the Church of God in Newton
officiated at the service.
Curley was born on Sept. 6, 1916, in Lucas County, the
son of Agustus and Mary E. Glass Chamberlain. He was a graduate of Knoxville High
School in the Class of 1935.
On June 14, 1936, he was married to Lois M. Parker
in Knoxville. Curley was a former member of the Newton Board of Realtors, the Iowa
Association of Realtors and the Newton Chamber of Commerce. He was a retired realtor
for Chamberlain Real Estate.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers;
and three sisters. Survivors include his wife of Newton; and one brother Gus Chamberlain
of Whittier, Calif.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. The Wallace-Pence
Funeral Home of Newton was in charge of the arrangements.
