Charles "Charlie" Leeper, Age 85, Watertown formerly of the Wentworth community
died in the Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls on Thursday, June 24, 2004.
Funeral
services were held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in Furness Funeral Home Chapel at Clark.
Pastor Donna Nickels officiated. Burial took place in Iowa. Visitation will take
place prior to the services in the funeral home.
Charles was born near Pleasanton, Iowa
on August 24, 1918, the son of William Robert and Una Vivian (Argo) Leeper. He lived
near Harvey, IA as a child and teenager.
On July 9, 1938 he was united in marriage
to Irene Bloomgren.
The couple lived at Cresco, Iowa where they farmed for many
years, Charlie drove a school bus. In the early 1990 they moved to Wentworth, South
Dakota.
Mrs. Leeper died on January 2, 1993. After her death he continued to live
in Wentworth working for Green Auction Service, In 1999 he moved to Watertown and
has been living at Meadow Lake Acres. Some of his hobbies included traveling, fishing and whittling.
Survivors include his brothers, James Warren, Paul Ronald and Richard
Ernest Leeper, three grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great-great
grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, wife, a son in infancy,
a daughter, Darlene Green and three brothers, William Robert, Walter Thomas, and
Roscoe Lee Leeper.
