Billy Michael Kelderman was born November 16, 1943 in Knoxville, Iowa the son of Willie and Kathryn (Glover) Kelderman.
He was raised in Knoxville and as a young man, he entered the United States Coast Guard. Billy served his country for four years and was honorably discharged in 1966 as a Quarter Master 2nd Class.
He lived in the Quad Cities for a few years and then returned to Knoxville. He worked for his father as a handyman and eventually went to work for the Knoxville V.A. Hospital as a painter. He retired from the V.A. with over 30 years of service.
On November 4, 1994, he was united in marriage to Cheryl (Lenig) Van Dusseldorp.
In his spare time, Billy enjoyed attending sprint car races, watching NASCAR, and spending time with friends. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, especially the grandkids. He will be remembered for his friendly nature and his smile that would light up the room.
Billy passed away on Tuesday, May 28 at his home at the age of 69 years
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ted.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Cheryl; children: Mike (Nancy) Kelderman of Knoxville, Kevin Kelderman of Oskaloosa, Shelly Kelderman of Knoxville, Sunnie (Lance) Palmitier of Ankeny, Shannon Van Dusseldorp and Jody Van Dusseldorp of Knoxville, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings: Margie (Johnny) Johnson of Oakridge, Tennessee, Larry (Bonnie) Swayne of Monroe and Richard (Sharon) Kelderman of Manning and many other family members and friends.
