Amy Marie DeGoey was born March 27, 1985 in Knoxville, Iowa. She was the daughter
of Jeffrey Wayne DeGoey and Kathy Ann LaHue.

Amy was raised in Knoxville and graduated from Knoxville High School, class of 2003.
After graduation Amy worked in retail, currently working for Motherhood in Des Moines.
<br />
<br />Amy enjoyed reading, music, video games, hockey, shopping, and especially spending
time with her son, Dexter. She was an avid volunteer for the homeless and was very
active with Occupy Iowa.
<br />
<br />
Amy passed away on December 6, 2011 at the Knoxville Area Community Hospital in
Knoxville. She was 26 years, eight months, and nine days of age.
<br />
<br />
Amy is survived by her son Dexter DeGoey; her father Jeff DeGoey and Mandy Weihs
of Knoxville; one brother William Lee LaHue of Pella; and four sisters Ashley DeGoey
of Knoxville, Faith DeGoey of Ames, Jessica Mae Quinn of Des Moines, and Amberly
Moriarty.

She is also survived by her grandparents Bill and Beverly LaHue, Sheri Hlad, and
Karen Barnett; many aunts, uncles, cousins, special friends, and one niece.

<br />
Amy was preceded in death by her grandparents Frances and Kenneth DeGoey; aunt Vicki
Major; and her cousin Michael DeGoey.

<br />
Visitation for Amy will be held from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M., Friday, December
9th, at the Winfield Funeral Home in Knoxville, with Amy’s family present. <br />
<br />
Funeral Services will also be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, December 9th, at the Winfield
Funeral Home, with Rev. Jeffrey McLaren officiating. After services Amy’s requests
were cremation to follow.

In Lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for Amy’s son Dexter or towards
