Phyllis LaVaun Williams was born on March 23, 1925
in Monroe, Iowa, the daughter of Harold and Madge (Johnson) Efnor.

Phyllis graduated
from Knoxville High School in 1942 and went on to Iowa Methodist where she graduated
in 1946 as a Registered Nurse.

On August 2, 1947 Phyllis married Charles Dwight
Williams in the First Christian Church, and to this union two children were born:
Jennifer and Dennis. Phyllis had worked as a nurse at the Veterans Administration
and Collins Hospital until in 1966 when she went to work for the School.

She continued
to serve as School Nurse until her retirement in 1985. Phyllis and Dwight enjoyed
dancing, traveling and bus tours. Phyllis loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She was a member of the First Christian Church, Retired Nurses Association, a life
member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and a past board member of the Knoxville Senior
Center.

Phyllis passed away at the Knoxville Area Community Hospital on Thursday,
October 25, 2007 at the age of 82 years, 7 months and 2 days. She was preceded in
death by her parents and her husband, Charles Dwight.

Those left to honor her memory
include her son, Dennis Williams of Knoxville, daughter-in-law, Vickie Williams
of Pleasantville, daughter, Jennifer (Melvin) Hoch and grandchildren: Amber Hoch,
Dennis Williams, Jr. and Heather (Dan) Davis all of Knoxville; Nikki (Troy) Freese and Amanda (Josh) Pettera all of Arizona and 10 great-grandchildren.
