Funeral services for Florence L. (Marsh) Ward, 84, of Knoxville, who died November 2, at
the Kavanagh House in Des Moines, were held November 4, 1999 at First United Methodist
Church in Knoxville.
Burial was at Lincoln Cemetery, Knoxville. Rev. Bob Ward officiated
at the services. Music was provided by Jim Kidder, pianist, and Katie Davis, soloist.
Casket Bearers were Bob Dieken, Jim Ellis, Roger Jordan, Dan Marsh III, Ted Roberts,
Don Synhorst.
Florence was born February 8, 1915 in Marion County, the daughter
of Daniel and Carrie Long Marsh. She was raised in the area and graduated from Knoxville
High School.
On April 11, 1936 she was united in marriage to Ted Ward in Coon Rapids,
Iowa. The couple have made their home in Marion County and farmed together over
the years.
She is survived by her husband Ted of Knoxville, two sons; John of Des
Moines, and Ted of Knoxville, daughter Mary Roach of Cumnming, a brother Dan Marsh
of Knoxville and five grandchildren, one great grandchild, and a host of family
members and friends.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church.
