Justin John Vaske, 30, of Newton, IA died December 7, 2013, on Friday morning in a motor vehicle accident on I80 near Grinnell, IA.
A journey of life for Justin John Vaske began on June 10, 1983, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Justin was the first of two sons born to Duane and Melanie (Rogers) Vaske, of Greeley, Iowa. His personality and presence were evident in his short lifetime of just 30 years. Justin’s arrival was always foretold by the sound of loud music, there were no limits; his presence was always felt when he entered the room.
He attended school in Knoxville, Iowa, and graduated from Knoxville High School with the Class of 2002.
During high school, he was the manager of the basketball team. Upon graduation, he attended college at Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, Iowa, and Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was employed by TPI Composites in Newton, Iowa at the time of his tragic death, which occurred on Friday morning, December 6, 2013, near Grinnell, Iowa.
The love and focus of his life was his fiancée, Sarah Allen, and her son, Christian, age 10 years of Newton. Justin was a giver and never knew a “stranger”; he had a heart of gold and was concerned for the welfare of others. He had served as a Boy Scout leader, was a bowling league supporter, and was an advocate for childhood diabetes awareness.
Justin loved sprint car races, Hawkeye football, and family card games. He is survived by his parents, Duane and Melanie Vaske, his brother, Brandon Vaske and wife, Cynthia, all of Pella, Iowa; his fiancée, Sarah Allen, and her son, Christian, of Newton; and his maternal grandmother, Ruth (Greif) Rogers of Monticello, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, John Rogers, and his paternal grandparents, Paul and Helen (Funke) Vaske.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held
Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Pella, Iowa.
Visitation will begin Tuesday afternoon at St. Mary’s Catholic Church where the family will be present Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by a vigil service at 7:00 p.m.
