Funeral services for Ethel Pearl (Wilson) Rockholz, 93, of Pleasantville and formerly of Knoxville, who died Saturday, May 27, 2000 at the Pleasant Care Living Center, were held Wednesday, May 31 at 11 a.m. at the Bybee and Davis Funeral Home. Rev. Bob Morris officiated at the services. Jim Kidder was organist.

Interment was at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville. Members of the family served as casket bearers.

Ethel was born on May 16, 1907, in Knoxville, the daughter of Charles Elmer Wilson and Dora Mabel (Hays) Wilson.

She was raised in the Knoxville area and graduated from Knoxville High School. After high school, she moved to Des Moines. Throughout the years, she worked for a movie theater, the ordinance plant, Frosty Foods Wholesaler, and had owned her own grocery store
on the east side of Des Moines.

She moved to Pleasantville in the late 1960's and worked for Pleasantville Variety Store before her retirement. She enjoyed growing roses and was an animal lover.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Charles, Glenn, and Robert; one sister, Mildred Dabb; and husband, Carl Rockholz.

She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Beverly Wilson of Pleasantville; one stepdaughter, Winifred Johnson of Winter Haven, Fla.; and two sisters-in-law, Josephine Wilson of Knoxville and Pat Wilson of Cleburn, Texas.

Memorials may be made to the Humane Society.

Arrangements were made by the Bybee and Davis Funeral Home in Knoxville.
