Services for Florence Evelyn (Knowles) Reed, 80, of Knoxville who died Aug. 18, 1987 at Des Moines General Hospital, were held Aug. 21 at Williams Funeral Home.

Interment was in Graceland Cemetery.
Rev. Wayne K. Hoehns officiated at the services. Music was provided by Darlene Mooberry, organist.
Pallbearers were Dorsey Andrews, Herman Veenstra, Don King, David M. Kuntz, don Slocum, and Henry Willis.
Mrs. Reed was born March 7, 1907 at Milton, the daughter of Claude and Mabel Knowles.

She graduated from Knoxville High School and taught rural school in Marion County.

On Aug. 30, 1930, she married Gale Reed at Knoxville.
She was a member of Daughters of American Revolution, Order of Eastern Star, First United Methodist Church, and Circles of United Methodist Women.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

She is survived by her husband; four daughters, Louise Mackie of Burleson, Texas, Marian Jones of Patterson, Elizabeth Hinkley of Chantilly, Va., and Patricia Crandall of West Covina, Calif.; one son, Ronald of Houston, Texas; 11 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and tow sisters, Lucille Willetts of Knoxville and Doris Nelson of Grand Junction, Colo.
