Robert Neil Quigley was born May 9, 1938 in Knoxville, Iowa the son of Leonard P. and Blanche E. (Wilson) Quigley.

He graduated from Knoxville High School and then attended Eastern Kentucky University in Lexington, Kentucky. Robert served in the U.S. Army, then served in the National Guard, as a Staff Sergeant E6 Medic.

Robert enjoyed working as a mechanic, specializing in carburetors and ignition. He played double-neck pedal steel guitar in various country music bands in Iowa and Mississippi.

He married Marjorie E. Sparks on November 6, 1964, and they made their home in Knoxville. Their family was completed of two children: Robert P. and Debra D.

The family later relocated to Long Beach, Mississippi for 11 years.

After working in the Veterans Administration in Knoxville, Iowa, and Gulfport, Mississippi, Robert retired from the Veterans Administration at Biloxi, Mississippi. He and Marjorie returned to Iowa and settled in Ottumwa.Bob Quigley

He passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at his home at the age of 79 years.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Blanche D Angelo of Mesa, AZ.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; son, Robert P. Quigley; daughter, Debra (Billy) Duffield; two grandchildren: Ashley Thames and Billy Saucier; one great-granddaughter, Olivia Anne; aunt, Carole Snody of Louisiana and his nephews and nieces.
