Floyd Pope
Floyd Wesley Pope was born August 21, 1928, in Tuscumbia, MO, the son of Oral Brooks and Ina (Pierce) Brooks. He attended Elementary School in Bussey and High School in Knoxville.

Floyd was united in marriage to Adeline Espeland in Nashua, Iowa on March 11, 1950. The two lived in Knoxville until moving to Phoenix, Arizona in 1961. They remained in Arizona until returning to Knoxville in 1966.

Floyd drove a truck for Ideal Ready Mix Company until his retirement in 1994. He also served as a Reserve Deputy for Marion County and as security for the Knoxville Raceway. Woodworking, gardening, and sharing stories with friends and family were things that Floyd enjoyed. He also loved his pet cat, Lucky.

Floyd passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2010, at the Pella Regional Health Center at the age of 81 years, 11 months and 11 days. He was preceded in death by his parents and his great-aunt and great-uncle that raised him, Roy and Grace Pope.

Survivors include his wife, Adeline; children, Alvina (Bob) Kaster-Steele of Knoxville, Marcia (Darrell) Allen of Knoxville, Johanna Peterson (Stan Eimers) of Algona, Daniel Ray (Teresa) Pope of Knoxville; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
