Beatrice C. (White) Mullen of Longmont died Saturday, Oct. 9, 1993, at Applewood Living
Center. She was 92.

She was born Dec. 10, 1900, in Mahaska County, Iowa, to William
T. and Emma R. Hower White. She married Hallie T. "Pete" Mullen Nov. 2, 1922, in
Des Moines, Iowa.

She worked as a teacher and homemaker. She was a teacher at Blaine
School before moving to Longmont in 1934 from Iowa. She was a member of the Protestant
faith.

Mrs. Mullen was always eager to learn, and in 1923 she attended a lesson
on remodeling velvet hats. Her interests included rearranging old-fashioned kitchens,
braiding rugs, upholstering and refinishing furniture, sewing, tailoring, nutrition,
cooking, canning, home management, bookkeeping and many other areas. She wrote that
she was always glad to pass along what she had learned to others.

She was a member
of the American Legion Auxiliary and three home extension clubs including Ninth
Avenue Club and Harmony Hills Club. Through these home extension clubs, she attended
39 state conferences and four national meetings.

She also entered a variety of homemade
items in the Boulder County Fair and received several ribbons and prizes. She was
preceded in death by her husband on June 9, 1989; her son, Orlin F. "Brownie" Mullen,
on Feb. 24, 1989; two brothers; and one sister.

She is survived by her son, Charles
W. Mullen and his wife, Annita, of Mesa, Ariz.; one daughter-in-law, Barbara Mullen,
of Longmont; granddaughters Annette Riley and her husband, Robert, of Loveland
and Teresa Michelle Mullen of Mesa, Ariz., and four other grandchildren.

Visitation
will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 11, at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Funeral
services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, at the Ahlberg Funeral Chap&
with the Rev. Dan Scates of Fir Christian Church officiating.
