Daniel Lee Lennie, age 50, of Knoxville, died Thursday morning, August 7, 2014, at the Pella Hospice Comfort House.
Daniel was born December 20, 1963, “Oh What A Night” as Dan would say, in Iowa City, Iowa. Dan was the son of Harvey Lee and Joyce Lucille (Geery) Lennie.
For a short time, the Lennie family lived in Waterloo and moved to Knoxville. Dan grew up in Knoxville and graduated from Knoxville High School, Class of 1983. After high school, Dan enlisted in the United States Army and served stateside and abroad for four years.
After his service, Dan worked and met his wife LuAnn Fee. They lived many years in California and many years in Knoxville and were blessed with a son Scott Edward. LuAnn died on June 21, 2012.
Dan was currently employed with KLK Construction of Pella. He has worked for many years as a trencher burying fiber optic cable. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, being outdoors, and sports, especially football. When Dan was in junior high he boxed and enjoyed fishing.
Dan is survived by his son Scott (Rachel) Fee of San Antonio, TX; a granddaughter Harley Quinn; his mother Joyce Vander Werff of Knoxville; and two sisters, Selena (Hank) Roux of Atoka, TN, and Laura (Jeff) Morrow of Knoxville. Dan is also survived by mother and father-in-law John and Imogene Fee of Hemet, CA; two nieces, two nephews, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife LuAnn Fee; father Harvey Lennie, stepfather Wayne Vander Werff and his grandparents.
Dan’s wishes were to be cremated and a visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, August 11, 2014, at the Winfield Funeral Home of Knoxville. Dan’s family will be present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday evening.
A graveside memorial service with military honors will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 12th, at Graceland Cemetery of Knoxville. Pastor Brent Hanna officiating.
