Marjorie Ruth (Wagner) Hester, age 84, of Knoxville, Iowa passed away on Sunday April 18, 2021 at West Ridge Specialty Care in Knoxville.

Marjorie was born on July 26, 1936, in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Ernest and Erma (Shore) Wagner. She was united in marriage to Howard Hester in 1963.

They resided in Knoxville for many years and then lived with their daughter Faye for three years in Connecticut. They owned and operated the Marion County Coffee Shop for eight years. Marjorie was also employed at Shorty’s Restaurant and at EDS. After retiring, she worked at Wal-Mart.

Marjorie’s wishes were to be cremated. No services are planned.

Those left to cherish Marjorie’s memory include her children, Faye Scribner of Hermann, Missouri, Ruth Fridlington of Harvey, Lynne Peterson of Indianola, Kevin Hester of Chandler, Texas, and Kalen Petersen (Scott) of Huxley; eight grandchildren, Jeff, Whitney, Kris, Karen, Stephanie, Amy, Dillon, and Shelby; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and three sisters,
Majorie WagnerRamona Barnard, Anna Simmons, and Esther Clarke.

Marjorie is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Hester; parents, Ernest and Erma Wagner; and siblings, Earnest, Valerie, Ellen, Mack, Jim, Joseph, Jessie, David, and Melvin.

The Winfield Funeral Home is assisting her family with services.
