Funeral services for Mrs. Fern (Core) Fast, who died April 2, 1971 at Lancaster, Calif., were held April 8 from Bybee & Davis Funeral Home with Rev. James W. Dendler officiating. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery.

Pallbearers were P. W. Fee, Leo Dykstra, Frank Tonda, Marvin Dixon and John Langstraat. Mrs. Lois Anderson was organist.

Fern, daughter of George H. and Ethel Horseman Core, was born Jan. 2, 1910 in Marion County.

She was united in marriage to Paul Fast on August 10, 1929 and the couple resided on a farm north of Knoxville for 25 years before moving to Knoxville in 1954. She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church.

Her father and husband preceded her in death.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Bertrand (Roberta) Dennison of Knoxville, Mrs. Dennis (Maurine) Belknap of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Mrs. Jack (Joan) Hakes of Palmdale,Calif., two sons, Ronald of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; eight grandchildren; her mother,

Mrs. Ethel Core of Knoxville; two brothers, Howard Core, Pleasantville and Grant Core of Knoxville; and one sister, Mrs. Bill (Ruth) Stittsworth, Knoxville.
