Doris Pauline (Park) Edwards age 83, of Knoxville, passed away peacefully at her home in Knoxville on Friday, March 22, 2013.

Doris Pauline Park was born on June 30, 1929, the only daughter of Herbert “Herb” and Georgia Pearl (Slocum) Park, in Ottumwa, Iowa.

She was raised on her family’s farm north of Knoxville. On August 24, 1947, Doris married the love of her lifetime Bob “Eddie” Edwards. Together they raised their
family of three: Pennie, Robin, and Edye.

Doris was very proud to be a homemaker and being home was where she loved to be cleaning, cooking, and attending her children’s and grandchildren’s activities. She always said, “there’s nothing more fun than a house full of kids”. She loved to play cards and marbles with them and laughter filled the home. She was very passionate about the Iowa State Cyclone fans and everything stopped when the Cyclones were playing.

Doris is survived by her husband Bob “Eddie” Edwards; their children: Pennie (Dwight)Sommar, Robert W. “Robin” (Aundra) Edwards II, and Edye Edwards Waits; ten grandchildren;
and six great-grandchildren.

Doris is also survived by her brother Max (Donna) Park; and many treasured friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Herb and Georgia Park; and four brothers: Harry, Jack, Bill, and Cliff Park.

Per Doris’ wishes, she has been cremated and her memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26th, also at the Celebrate Community Church of Knoxville.

Burial will follow services at Graceland Cemetery of Knoxville.
Memorial visitation with Doris’ family present will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, March 25, 2013, at the Celebrate Community Church of Knoxville.

A memorial has been established to Hospice Care Services of Knoxville or to the donor’s favorite community charity in the care of Doris. Condolences may be sent to wwww.winfieldfh.com.

The Winfield Funeral Home of Knoxville is assisting Doris’ family
