Ruth Mary (Kunkel) Dennison, 80, of 2005 6th Avenue East, University Park Died Wednesday, Sept. 14, 1988 at her home.

She was born Aug. 1 1908 at Attica to Henry William and Mary Almo Coffman Kunkel.

She married Rev. Dr. James M. Dennison on Sept. 6, 1936 at Knoxville. He died May 8, 1978. She graduated from Knoxville High School in 1927 and Kletzing College in University Park in 1950.

She received her masters in Education at the Universtiy of Iowa. She was a principal and teacher in the public schools including Lovilia and Cedar. She taught at Asbury Christian Day School in Moline, Ill and Kansas City College and Bible School in Overland Park, Kans.

She attended Oskaloosa Missionary Church and was a board member of the Jeffers Memorial Holiness Camp in Sioux city.

She is survived by one daughter, Ruth Caroline (Mrs. Reuben) Lowery of Overland Park, Kans; and one grandson, Jonathan Lowerey of Fort Scott, Kans.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Funeral services were held Saturday Sept. 17, 1988 at Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dennis West of the Church of God, Quincy, Ill, officiating. Burial was in Gullion Cemetery at Attica.

Memorials may be made to a mission project.
