Funeral services for Rev. Dr. James M. Dennison, who died May 8, 1978, in Moline, Ill., were held May 11 at Evans – McCleery Funeral Home, Rev. David Budensiek of Faith Bible School, Mitchell, S. Dak, officiated at the services.
Music for the services was provided by Mrs. Ruth Huskins, soloist.

Casketbearers were Ivan Edge, Donald Dye, Mike McCormick, Orlie Flanders, Clark Robuck, and Lowell Robuck, Honorary casketbearer was Fred Johnson.

Interment was in Gullion Cemetery, Attica.
James M. Dennison was born Jan. 11, 1913, south of Knoxville, to Elijah S. and Grace Bonifield Dennison

On Sept. 6, 1933 he was united in marriage to Ruth Mary Kunkel.
James was ordained a minister of the Wesleyan Methodist Church, Iowa Conference, in 1948. Up to 1970, James served several churches in Iowa and Missouri. Since 1970, he had been the pastor of the Asbury Bible Church, Milan, Ill.

James was treasurer and board member of the Iowa Holiness Assoc., University Park, Ia.; a member of the
board of the Jeffers Memorial Holiness Camp, Sioux City, Ia.; a board member of the Springfield Faith Mission, Springfield, III.; and a board member of the South Market Holiness Mission, Oskaloosa, Ia.
James was preceded in death by his father and mother, two brothers, and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife Ruth; one daughter, Mrs. Reuben (Ruth Caroline) Lowery, Overland Park, Kans.; two grandchildren; and two brothers, William D., and Elijah Dennison, Jr., both of Knoxville.
