Funeral services for Charity Fay DeHeer, 93, of Knoxville, who died November 16,
1999, were held November 19, 1999, at Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville. Burial
was at Ruckman Cemetery in Marion County. Elder William McDonald officiated at the
services.
Casketbearers were Roger Cecil, Billy DeHeer, Steve Simpson, Arlan DeHeer,
Frank DeHeer, and Jeff Vance. Honorary bearers were Glen Breuklander, Jimmy DeHeer,
Vint DeHeer, Wes Carter, Scott DeNeer, and Wade DeHeer. Music was provided by Darlene
Mooberry, organist and Barbara Marvelli, vocalist.

Charity was born July 28, 1906, in Red Rock, Iowa, the daughter of Bertha May Love
and Zaccheus A. Ruckman. She lived in the Red Rock, Dunreath and Knoxville areas
her entire life. She attended rural school and the Knoxville High School.

On November 8, 1927 she was united in marriage to Harry Milo DeHeer in Trenton,
Mo. To this union nine sons and seven daughters were born.

She was employed at various jobs including the VA Medical Center and retired
from the T and G.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Gary and Robert; two
infant children, one brother, Duane, three sisters, Ruby, Mabel and Florence; six
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She is survived by six sons, LeRoy
DeHeer, Knoxville, Carroll DeHeer, Pleasantville, Bill DeNeer, Knoxville, Les DeHeer,
Knoxville, Delmar DeHeer, Knoxville and Phillip DeHeer, Oskaloosa; six daughters,
Ila Atwood, Brookfield, MO, Ina Simpson, Monroe, Jane Shore, Chariton, Jean Cecil,
Knoxville, Bonnie Wilbur, Knoxville and Becky Breuklander of Pella; 48 grandchildren,
many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
