Funeral services and a Mass of Christian Burial for Maye "Maxine" Carroll, 89, a resident of Davenport, will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 9, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 2618 Boies Ave., Davenport.

Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. Visitation will be from 2 until 5 p.m. Sunday at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. You are invited to join the family for a family-led rosary at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to St. Alphonsus Church or to Good Samaritan Nursing Center.

Mrs. Carroll died on Thursday, June 5, 2008, at Good Samaritan Nursing Center, Davenport.

Maye Maxine Moneysmith was born Dec. 16, 1918, in Knoxville, Iowa, a daughter of Martin and Lenora Mabel "Maye" Fisher Moneysmith.

She was united in marriage to Charles D. Carroll on June 30, 1939, in Knoxville. He preceded her in death on Nov. 29, 1981.

Mrs. Carroll received her teaching degree and had taught elementary education. She retired after teaching several years at St. Alphonsus Catholic School. She was a member of the church.

Those left to honor her memory include a daughter and son-in-law, Eva and Guy Randazzo, Rock Island; and a son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Val Carroll, Monmouth; three grandchildren, Lisa (David) Short, Laurence Randazzo and Matthew Randazzo and his fiancee, Jennifer Hessman. In addition to her husband, she also was preceded in death by a grandson, Dan Carroll; a sister, Marguerite Orcutt; and brothers, Floyd, Walter and Elmer Moneysmith. May they rest in peace.
