Marilyn Lee (Koons) Britt, 78, passed away December 13, 2013, at Regency Care Center in Norwalk, Iowa. She was born July 18, 1935, in Iowa City, Iowa, to James Dee and Winifred Koons.
Marilyn was a graduate of Knoxville High School. She had many jobs but always enjoyed working with and helping people the most.
Spending time with family was very important to her, and she was especially proud of her grandchildren. Babies and toddlers brought her great joy.
Marilyn is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Alton; daughters, Kim (Robert) and Kathy (David); grandchildren, Deana (Wally), Christina (Chris), Samantha, Eliot, Angel (Bill), and Matthew (Stacy); great grandchildren, Jayden, Nathan, Jacob, Lilith, Chyanne, and Mikah; siblings, Sharon, Roger, Danny, and Dean; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother; her sisters, Dixie, Diane, Janice, and Harla; her brother, Jerry; her son, Michael; and her granddaughter, Samantha Rae.
A cremation has been entrusted to Iowa Cremation in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Food Bank of Iowa in her name.
