Gerald Eugene Brooks was born on June 17, 1930 and passed away March 20, 2019 at the age of 88.
He joined Dorothy, his beloved wife of 54 years, in eternal life. He is under the care of Laurel Land Memorial Park. Jerry had a generous heart and loved to laugh with family, friends and strangers.
Memorial Service: 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2019, First United Methodist Church in Colleyville, 1000 Church Street, Colleyville, TX 76034.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Meals on Wheels 5740 Airport Freeway, Haltom City, TX 76117 or the North Texas Food Bank, 2525 Cullen St, Fort Worth, TX 76107.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents Arlie and Lillian and his brothers Wayne, Duane, and Ken.
He is survived by his brother Paul, his sons and their spouses, two sons, Larry Brooks and wife, Fran, and Tom Brooks and wife, Judie; a daughter, Deb Kirby; six grandchildren, Tina Rash, Tara and Steven Brooks, Cari Tiller, Rachel and Holly Kirby; and two great-grandchildren, Jayde Kettner and Mikayla Rash. , his 5 granddaughters, his favorite grandson.
Gerald Married Dorothy M. (Needham) Brooks, 75, of Fort Worth, who died Tuesday, July 15, 2003, at her home, were held Friday at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel.
Interment was at Laurel Land Memorial Park of Fort Worth.
Dorothy was born on May 4, 1928, in Monroe. She attended school in Pella and graduated from Pella Community High School in 1946.
Dorothy, a homemaker, graced everyone she met with a wonderful sense of humor, a smile and a lively spirit. She raised three children with her husband, Gerald.
They enjoyed exploring the country with the Lone Star Royal Rovers Travel Club and were members since 1976.
She enjoyed playing bridge and found joy in watching birds play and flowers dance.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Delmar and Leslie Needham.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald Brooks; two sons, Larry Brooks and wife, Fran, and Tom Brooks and wife, Judie; a daughter, Deb Kirby; six grandchildren, Tina Rash, Tara and Steven Brooks, Cari Tiller, Rachel and Holly Kirby; and two great-grandchildren, Jayde Kettner and Mikayla Rash.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Colleyville, 5601 Pleasant Run Rd., Colleyville, Texas 76034.
Her Arrangements were made by Laurel Land Funeral Home.
